Noel and I started in the breed with a little miniature Pekingese called Chinky, who we acquired as a pet. We were besotted! .... and so we began our love affair with the Pekingese.

We purchased a Pekingese from the late Ron Carr and Bruce Marquette of Joewil fame. Our little boy was CH. Joewil Jon Romeo, who we purchased as a pet for $50.00. We took him back to the breeders to show them our little man and were promptly talked into showing him. He was about 14 months old.

Julius, as he was affectionately known, went from strength to strength in the show ring and his show career spanned over 8 years. He won 3 All Breeds Best In Shows, and scooped up the prestigious North of the Harbour Winter Classic under English judge Mr. Herbert Essam, with an entry of 1,800 dogs entered of the highest calibre. Julius also had many Best In Group wins for us. He was Best of Breed twice at Brisbane Royal, and Reserve Challenge Dog at Sydney Royal under Mrs. Lilly Turner (respected U.K. judge) in a bumper entry of quality Pekingese. Another highly respected judge to award him was Thelma Gray (U.K.).

Aust. CH Linbourne Li Cheng (Jason)Our next outstanding dog came from Linbourne Pekingese Kennels in the form of a little apricot dog, called Aust. CH. Linbourne Li Cheng (Jason), an outstanding dog of great quality, and a wonderful showman who just shone in the ring. Jason won Best In Group at Sydney Royal, Best of Breed Adelaide Royal (twice), Best In Show wins in Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra and N.S.W. Pekingese Specialty Shows. In all, Jason won 21 All Breeds Best In Shows, and is behind all of our present day stock. He produced lots of champions for us. His lovely daughter of note was CH. Chindara Hi Society (Pebbles) with Best of Breed wins at the Spring Fair, Sydney Royal, and countless All Breeds Best In Show wins.

Multi BIS Aust. CH Valvista Wan ChaiOur next huge winner was Aust. CH. Valvista Wan Chai. Chai was awarded 35 All Breeds Best In Show wins, Pekingese Specialties, Best In Groups wins at Sydney and Melbourne Royal Shows, and Best In Show at the prestigious Sydney Royal 1987.

Chai in turn produced many Champions and some wonderful stock. Chiís daughter of note was the stunning
Aust. CH. Chindara Society Lucinda, who gained her title very easily, and produced for us what every kennel dreams of, in the form of:

Stallone won many All Breeds Best In Shows, and produced many good dogs for us. His beautiful daughter Aust. CH. Winwei Bridget Neilson, bred by Winwei Kennels, produced 6 champions, and her beautiful son Aust. CH. Chindara Guns And Roses, had an outstanding show career in Brisbane, then was sold to Sydney and went on to win many Best In Shows for the new owners. He also captured two Contests of Champions as well. Bridget lived to be nearly 18 years old.

Lucinda also produced for us Aust. CH. Chindara Society Sindee, an outstandingly beautiful bitch, who won many many Best In Shows, Best In Group at Brisbane Royal, and Runner-Up to Best In Show at the Brisbane Royal, and produced the wonderful Aust. CH. Chindara Society Rose.

Another of Lucindaís outstanding daughters, was Aust. CH. Chindara Society Sharlotte, a winner of many, many All Breeds Best In Show, and Best In Show at the prestigious Brisbane Royal.

Charlotte's father was Aust. CH. Winwei Simon Sez, bred and owned in partnership, with Mrs. Sylvia O'Cass of Winwei fame.

Simon won for us many, many Best In Groups, and Best Exhibit In Show, and Queensland's Dog Of The Year (all breeds), which captured for us the wonderful trip for two to Crufts, my first visit there, so that was a very memorable win.

Aust. CH. Chindara Society Rose (CH. Burndale Famechon - CH. Chindara Society Cindy) went on to win 17 All Breeds Best In Shows including Best In Show at North of the Harbour, Best In Show at the Pekingese Specialty N.S.W. (under Mr. Gilbert Kahn of U.S.A.), and Best In Show at the Pekingese Specialty in Victoria (under Breed specialist Mrs. Dot Wilson N.Z.). Jason also won under judges: Mrs. Catherine Sutton (U.K.), Mr. Harry Glover (U.K.) and Mr. Ellis Hulme (U.K.).

As we moved into the 90's along came our beloved Mikie, at 10 weeks old who would be later on known, as Aust. Grand CH. Woonan Bawn Classy, bred by Mrs. Vikki Dwyer, of Woonan fame. Mikie stormed into the show ring and never looked back.
He won Queensland's Dog Of The Year, again a trip for 2 to Crufts, an $8000 dollar prize. He won thirteen Best Exhibits In Show, produced 14 Champions, and now lives in happy retirement. His most notable children are Aust. Grand CH. Chindara Mikeson, Aust. CH. Chindara Gingerlilly Rose, Aust. CH. Chindara Sibella, and Aust. CH. Chindara Wrenegade In Red.

Moving on to Aust. Grand CH. Chindara Mikeson, affectionately known as Sonny, we consider Sonny one of our best! He won for us many, many all breeds Best In Shows, Best Of Breed three times at the Sydney Royal, plus a Best In Group, 3 times Best In Show at the Pekingese Specialty Club of N.S.W., Best In Show at the Pekingese Specialty Show of Victoria, twice Best Of Breed Brisbane Royal,

Sonny has also been a wonderful producer, although used only sparingly, he has produced the wonderful champions. Aust. CH .Chindara Romeo, a multi in-show winner, and producer of Champions. Also Aust. CH. Chindara Buster Brown, a multi Best In Show winner, for Bri McCarthy of LaNeala Kennels in Perth, Western Australia .

Then we have the beautiful black Pekingese Aust. CH. Tai Bo Of Torquay (Imp N.Z.), the winner of multi Best In Groups. We only used Bo Bo once, and he had a very beautiful son in the show ring in Victoria Aust. CH. Chindara Man In Black, owned by Mrs. Nina Beiberitz.

The highlight of our 36 years was the acquisition of Aust. CH. Kushan Misty Morning (Imp. U.K.), bred by Mrs. Anthea Everett.

Mishko arrived in Australia in June 2002. As this was our first ever attempt at importing, it was a very nerve-wracking experience. Mishko was quarantined in Sydney, so we didn't see him until he landed in Queensland one month later. When we first laid eyes on him we were besotted! What a beautiful blonde bundle of joy, He was everything we could have hoped for. A short, thickest dog with huge black eyes, massive head, and the thickest bone, and a chest to die for!

Well, the rest is history for us, Mishko gained his title in high style, winning Best In Toy Group, and Puppy In Show awards, at such a tender age.

With his first progeny on the ground, we were ready for another round of history hopefully!!!!!!

We are deeply indebted to Mrs. Anthea Everett of Kushan Kennels, for her honesty, and wonderful choice of entrusting this truly beautiful specimen into our care.
